Every cut of meat in this kitchen is halal. There has never been pork on the premises. Here is what that means item by item.
What halal means here
Our chicken, beef and lamb are zabiha halal. We buy from halal suppliers and the meat arrives labeled. Ask at the counter and we will show you the halal paperwork.
Pepperoni, bacon and gyro
- Pepperoni is beef pepperoni. There is no pork pepperoni in the building.
- Italian sausage is beef sausage.
- Bacon is turkey bacon, and Canadian bacon is turkey as well.
- Gyro is a halal lamb and beef cone, sliced to order for the Beef Gyro sandwich and the gyro pizza.
- Chicken for wings, tikka, tandoori, butter chicken, alfredo and the tenders is halal chicken.
There is no pork anywhere in the kitchen, so there is nothing to cross contaminate. Same oven, same pans, all halal.
Vegetarian and gluten free
Six specialty pizzas are vegetarian, including the Greek, the Mediterranean, the Margarita and the Quatro Formaggi. The gluten free penne with marinara is on the regular menu. The gluten free pizza shell is 10 inch only, for $2.00 more.
Who runs the kitchen
One Muslim family has owned and run this kitchen since 2018. We opened it because there was no halal Chicago style pie in Irving.
